Alitalia has really done an excellent job with their lounges, which have now been renamed Casa Alitalia. There are two proper Casa Alitalia lounges with the brand new lounge concept, at Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa, but also many of the other lounges have received a facelift with new furniture and a new design. They have surely become very elegant, a far cry from what they used to look like.
The Casa Alitalia Lounge at Milan Linate is one good example. It has now become quite a stylish lounge with a very modern and contemporary design and a great apron view.
But also the food and drinks selection has improved and there is great prosecco on offer, an Italian sparkling wine. The brand is called Ferrari, a name that would probably make most people think this has something to do with the Italian car manufacturer. But this is in fact another Ferrari, but an equally great one with just as much exceptional quality in their products as the car manufacturer.
The wine producer Ferrari started production in 1902 in the district of Trentino in northern Italy. Their Ferrari prosecco has won several prestigious awards including the award “Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year” in the “Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships”.
And it is a lovely sparkling wine, and best of all, it is available for self service and for free in the Casa Alitalia lounges, and served in special Ferrari glasses.
A nice afternoon with some nice Italian snacks, a glass of Ferrari prosecco and an espresso from the barista, with three choices. I had an espresso aromatico.
