Although the SAS business class product on the brand new Airbus A350 is not very different from the one available on the Airbus A330 and A340 (with the exception of some minor adjustments) there is a very nice improvement available just by the business class galley, a brand new self-service buffet area.
Although a self-service buffet corner has exists for many years in business class on the Airbus A330 and A340, the new bar area on the A350 really creates a new passenger experience with a brand new design and a rather exclusive look.
Another novelty is that they have introduced a new cocktail glass, which will only be available in business class on the Airbus A350. You can see it on the tray on the photo above, the second glass from the right.
Just like today alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as snacks will be available, however cold drinks such as champagne and white wine will be stored in a fridge in the galley, so they can be kept chilled at all times.
Some media have reported that there is some kind of lounge area in SAS business class on the Airbus A350. This is not really the case, at least not in the proper sense. There is indeed some space to hang around just by the business class galley, to have a drink or to chat with fellow passengers, and as the Airbus A350 is wider than the A330 and A340 for obvious reasons there is more space available. But there is no dedicated lounge area with sofas and tables such as on the Airbus A380 on some Gulf carriers
But overall this is a very nice improvement which definitely makes a good first impression when you board the aircraft.
