Have you passed through Amsterdam Schiphol and seen the large clock with a man working inside? It appears that he is stuck inside, painting the pointers to indicate the time, and then erasing them again, starting from scratch. He is wearing a blue overall and is faceless, well at least the way you see him from the outside.

The clock has been created by Dutch designer Maarten Baas, part of his Real Times’ series. In reality it is a video performance that took 12 hours to record and which takes exactly 12 hours to play.

The clock is available in Lounge 2 in the non-Schengen transit hall, close to the non-Schengen gates at Concourse D. If you have not seen it, take a look when you pass as it is quite cool.
