Cathay Pacific The Pier First Class Lounge in Hong Kong has really become a favourite lounge for me. I just love the whole concept, the incredibly stylish interior and the relaxed atmosphere.
There are several great things about this lounge. You get free massage treatments and there is a rather good a la carte restaurant called The Dining Room, but there is also a very nice cocktail bar.
The cocktail bar is located in a separate room, to the left after the entrance, and really offers the kind of bar setting I very much enjoy, much like a hotel bar with comfortable sofas and armchairs, a pleasant atmosphere and some relaxing lounge music. But of course in contrast to a hotel bar all the drinks here are complimentary. And if you want some snacks to eat, for example some cakes or finger sandwiches, you can help yourself to some snacks in The Pantry, another room located just around the corner from the cocktail bar.
And the drinks selection is rather extensive and includes three champagnes, five white wines and four red wines. Then a bunch of spirits, a rather good selection of different beers, various cocktails and mocktails and of course non-alcoholic drinks like coffee, tea and juices. And here is the drink list.
I decided to order a Mojito. Perhaps not one of the best ones I have had and there are definitely cocktails they do better, but a Mojito is always a Mojito. And the great atmosphere and the friendly service at the cocktail bar well made up for it.
