Late dinner in the Plaza Premium Arrivals Lounge at London Heathrow terminal 2, accessible using Priority Pass. The great thing about this lounge is that it is open until 10 pm, whereas most arrivals lounges close at noon or in the early afternoon. So you can pop in here after an evening flight to have dinner, a snack or just something to drink before leaving the airport.
Very quiet in the lounge this evening at 9 pm with just two more guests, so there is plenty of space and just as many staff members as guests.
There is a menu to order from and all food are prepared at the bar counter while you wait. I decided to order the Chicken tikka masala with rice for main course and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc white wine to drink. The food was not extraordinary in any way but definitely not bad and very nicely presented. I was also proactively offered a refill of the wine by the friendly man at the bar.
To finish off I ordered one of the desserts, a mango mousse, served in a plastic container though, which did not feel particularly premium. It was tasty though. And finally a gin & tonic to drink.
Wine, beer and a standard selection of spirits are available free of charge while you have to pay for any premium spirits.
Overall this was another pleasant visit to the Plaza Premium Arrivals Lounge at terminal 2. A very nice way to end the day and to get something to eat and drink before leaving the airport for central London. Nowadays there is also another Plaza Premium Arrivals Lounge in terminal 4.
