Where is it?

The TAV Primeclass Lounge is located airside in the Schengen area of the terminal building. The entrance is close to Concourse B, straight after the shopping area when heading from the security control to the gates. There are several signs and the lounge entrance is hard to miss.

How do I get in?

This is the main lounge at the airport used by most full-service airlines for their business class passengers and top-tier frequent flyers. Among the airlines using the lounge are Air Baltic, Lufthansa, LOT and Finnair.

It is also possible to enter using for example Priority Pass.

There is also a second smaller lounge at the airport located in the non-Schengen area used by mostly low-cost airlines.

What’s it like?

This used to be the Air Baltic Lounge in Riga but the lounge has now been taken over by TAV and is run as a Primeclass Lounge. Overall it is a rather pleasant lounge with a modern interior and a decent apron view. The lounge is divided into two floors with the main lounge located on the ground floor while the balcony offers extra seating in a more quiet atmosphere.

Overview of the lounge seen from the balcony

The main lounge on the ground floor is divided into different seating areas with walls and furniture used as dividers. There are both black leather armchairs and some large and rather comfortable sofas.

There are more seats available upstairs on the balcony, which can be reached using the staircase.

Generally few guests make it to the balcony so this section is usually very quiet. A good place if you want to relax or want to get some work done without being disturb. You also have an excellent apron view from the balcony.

Food and drinks

The self-service buffet is located on the ground floor, just around the corner to the right after the reception area. The selection of food, drinks and snacks is very good and well above average for a third-party lounge at a regional airport in the Nordic countries.

The self-service buffet area

There is always some hot food available, usually 2-3 dishes, also for breakfast in the morning. There is also a cold buffet with vegetables, cold cuts, bread rolls, sandwiches and pastries which varies depending on the time of the day.

The selection of drinks is also rather good with several different types of beer, wine (including sparkling wine) a reasonable selection of spirits, various soft drinks and juices, and of course a coffee machine. You can also try some Latvian liqueur like the Riga Balzsam.

Facilities

There are plenty of newspapers and magazines available in the lounge, most of them placed on a large table. There is also free wireless internet available and there is a small business centre with internet computers.

There are restrooms in the lounge but no showers.

Final impression

An excellent third-party lounge at a smaller airport like Riga with a modern interior, a good apron view and a pretty good selection of food, drinks and snacks.
