Where is it?
The Lufthansa lounges are located airside in the transit hall. After exiting from security control, take the escalator to the right to the upper floor and you will find the entrance on the right hand side just around the corner.
The transit hall is small and the entrance very hard to miss.
How do I get in?
The Lufthansa lounge in Leipzig is divided into a Business Lounge and a Senator Lounge.
The Senator Lounge is accessible to passengers holding a Miles & More Senator or HON Circle card or a Star Alliance gold card when travelling the same day on Lufthansa or Star Alliance.
In Leipzig this means flying on for example Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss and Turkish Airlines (although the latter has contracted the Primeclass Lounge nextdoors). Access is also provided to Senator and HON Circle members flying on Eurowings.
What’s it like?
The lounge itself is not particularly large and the Senator lounge, to the right of the reception, can only be described as tiny. There is seating for no more than about a dozen guests using armchairs and sofas and this is definitely one of the smallest Senator lounges in the network and possibly one of the smallest gold card lounges in the world.
The design is quite modern though and has one of the latest Senator lounge designs in mostly brown and beige.
Food and drinks
There is a small buffet area with food and drinks for self service.
The food selection includes some sandwiches, cold cuts, bread rolls, pastries, fresh fruits and of course some crisps and nuts. Considering the size of the lounge the food selection is obviously much smaller than many other Lufthansa Senator lounges.
The drinks selection includes German beer (in bottles), red, wine and sparkling wine, a reasonable selection of spirits, and all kinds of non-alcoholic drinks including sodas, juices, coffee and tea.
Facilities
Free wireless internet is available and there is also a work station in the lounge.
Restrooms are located outside the lounge in the main transit hall, just around the corner from the entrance.
The reception desk should be able to assist with requests such as check-in and rebookings. They also make announcements in the lounge when it is time for boarding.
Final impression
One of the smallest gold card lounges I have ever visited. But the lounge has the modern Senator lounge design and the selection of food and drinks is quite reasonable considering the small size.
