British Airways has just released a new app with an improved boarding pass functionality. In the new version multiple boarding passes can be stored in the app which makes it easier for friends and families travelling together. Previously each passenger had to carry their own smartphone to show at security control and at the gate.
The new version of the app can hold up to eight individual boarding passes which can be viewed on a single mobile phone as long as everyone is travelling on the same booking with the same booking reference. The only exception is when travelling with an infant, when the multiple boarding pass function is not available.
Multiple boarding passes are initially available from the following airports: Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Basel, Belfast, Dublin, Düsseldorf, Edinburgh, Geneva, Glasgow, Jersey, Leeds, London City, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Manchester, Vienna, Zurich. More airports will be added within the next few weeks.
The new app is available for download for iPhones and Android devices.
