Starting next year KLM will introduce another new route between Amsterdam and Scandinavia, this time to the city of Växjö in southern Sweden. The route will start 14 May 2018 and will be operated using an Embraer 175 with capacity for 88 passengers. The new route will be operated daily with a flight time of approximately one hour and 40 minutes.
Barry ter Voert, Senior Vice President Europe at KLM, has made this comment: ”North Europe is a strong and attractive region where KLM already operates a unique network. We are proud to be the first major international airline to launch daily flights to Vaxjo, the hometown of IKEA”.
To sort things out Växjö is not the hometown of IKEA, the headquarters of IKEA are located in Älmhult. However it is true that Älmhult is not that far away from Växjö, roughly 60 km. So the route will indeed be convenient for IKEA employees.
KLM also flies to Stockholm, Gothenburg and Linköping in Sweden and for travellers to southernmost parts of Sweden KLM also flies to Copenhagen in Denmark several times per day.
