One of the fun things about the British Airways Galleries First Lounge at London Heathrow terminal 5 is that there is nearly always something going on in there. It could be Rioja wine tasting, a gin festival, scent consultation or being able to have a look at the latest mobile phones.
This week Bvlgari has opened a pop-up stand in the lounge where guests can have a look at some of the latest jewellery and watches. Two women are working at the stand who are also able to give some consultation.
Generally these pop-up stands work a bit better in the evenings and during weekend when lounge guests have more time. On weekdays many guests have work to do and obviously less time for other things. Also most of the people who work in these stands try to keep a distance rather than proactively approaching people, after all this is an airport lounge and not a shopping mall. But from previous experiences many guests do appreciate these initiatives and those who do approach the stands are usually genuinely interested and may well be potential customers in the future.
