A new third-party lounge has opened at London Heathrow terminal 5, which is great news for travellers with British Airways or Iberia who travel in economy class and who do not have Silver or Gold status with British Airways or Sapphire or Emerald status with OneWorld, which provide complimentary lounge access. And although there already is a third-party lounge airside in terminal 5, Aspire The Lounge And Spa, it is small and can be very crowded.

The new lounge is run by Plaza Premium and this will be their sixth lounge at London Heathrow. They also run two lounges in terminal 2 (one airside for departing passengers and one arrivals lounge landside), one arrivals lounge in terminal 3 and two lounges in terminal 4 (one for departing passengers and one arrivals lounge).

The new lounge in terminal 5 is located airside in the transit hall close to gate A7, which means in the northern part of the transit hall,  not far from the British Airways Galleries Club North. It is open from 5 am until 10 pm.

The lounge offers a great apron view, comfortable seating, freshly prepared seasonal food, a fully serviced bar, high-speed Wi-Fi and international newspapers and magazines.

Entering the lounge is rather expensive though compared to many other third-party lounges, so most likely the standard is somewhat higher than many other third-party lounges and even some of the other Plaza Premium lounges at the airport. 2 hours in the lounge costs 40 GBP and if you want to stay up to 5 hours the price is 65 GBP.

At the moment it seems like the lounge is not accessible to holders of for example Priority Pass.
