Where is it?
Fantazja Lounge is located in the Schengen transit hall, on the same level as the gate areas (level 1) not far from gates 36 and 37. If you start your journey in Warsaw you turn left after the security control and follow the corridor straight ahead. You will eventually see the entrance at the far end of the corridor, just in front of you.
How do I get in?
Fantazja Lounge is the main Schengen third-party lounge at the airport used by nearly all full-service airlines not part of Star Alliance or a partner of LOT/Miles & More (which use the LOT Polonez Lounge). This means that most airlines part of the OneWorld and Skyteam alliances use this lounge as well as a few other airlines.
It is not possible to pay for entry to the Fantazja Lounge. Pay-in guests are directed to the Preludium Lounge which is very close, located in the basement with the stairs to reach it right opposite the Fantazja lounge.
For premium passengers travelling to a non-Schengen destination there is also the Bolero Lounge in the non-Schengen area. Most airlines flying to non-Schengen destinations from Warsaw have contracted both the Bolero Lounge and the Fantazja Lounge.
What’s it like?
The lounge opened in early summer 2015 and is a bit of a flagship lounge at the airport. The lounge measures around 450 sqm with seating for 75 guests.
The interior is very modern with a stylish design, especially with the signature green walls from Polish designer Zielony Słoń, which are also available in the other lounges at the airport.
The lounge is divided into several different areas used for different purposes with mostly bookcases used as dividers. The design is almost entirely in wood with most furniture in dark brown. Green plants and green walls are used to make the interior more colourful.
There are large panorama windows along one of the walls providing plenty of daylight however the view is unfortunately towards the landside parking areas and the terminal drop-off areas and not towards the apron and the runways, so there is very little of interest to see.
Food and drinks
There is quite a sizeable buffet area with a rather good selection of food, drinks and snacks for self service, especially for a third-party lounge.
The food varies depending on the day but there is usually some hot food available in the afternoon and the evening and naturally various breakfast dishes are on offer in the morning. There is also a good selection of cold cuts, salads and yoghurt.
For guests looking for something sweet there are miniature desserts in one of the fridges as well cookies, pastries and candies on one of the tables. Fresh fruits are also available.
The drinks selection includes four fridges with different Polish beers as well as the standard selection of soda brands.
Red and white wine and a standard selection of spirits are also available on one of the buffet counters.
And of course there are coffee and tea and a rather good selection of juices.
And not to miss, water with different flavours. Very nice!
Facilities
There is a business centre in the lounge with internet computers and also free wireless internet. The password is available on signs throughout the lounge. There are also a few TVs, newspapers and magazines and actually even some books to read in many of the bookshelves.
For passengers wishing to have a rest there is a quiet area. Restrooms are also located inside the lounge.
Final impression
An excellent third-party lounge which was much better than expected with a very stylish interior and a good selection of food and drinks. And for guests looking for other things to read than the standard selection of newspapers and magazines there are even bookshelves with books.
