Estonian airline Nordica yesterday introduced what they call “silent morning flights”. These will be offered during the winter season from 1 November to 31 May on all Nordica flights departing before 9 am.
In practice this means that the cabin lighting will be dimmed, announcements are being kept as short as possible (with the exception of safety announcements), the announcements are being made as quietly and in as soft a tone of voice as possible, and on-board shopping and promotional announcements are not being made.
Nordica is based at Tallinn Lennart Meri airport and offers flights to the Nordics, to Russia, Finland and the Baltics, and to a number of destinations in mostly central Europe.
