Inflight internet is certainly no longer a novely, having been introduced on a fair number of airlines during the past year. However starting this week Icelandair will be the first airline in Europe to offer Wi-Fi gate-to-gate, from the moment the passenger boards the aircraft to the moment the passenger disembarks at the destination. Previously passengers have had to wait until the aircraft reaches 10,000 feet before they can connect.
Wireless internet is offered both on flights from Iceland to North America and on flights to Europe. Passengers travelling in Saga Class (Icelandair Business Class) can use wireless internet free of charge on the flights. In Economy Comfort (Premium Economy) and Economy Class wireless internet is available at a charge.
