There are less than two months left until KLM will operate its very last Fokker flight after nearly a century. As Fokker was a Dutch company KLM became one of the first airlines to use their aircrafts, 97 years ago. To mark what can best be described as the end of an era KLM have painted one of the last Fokker aircrafts with a picture of Mr Anthony Fokker himself on the tail and the text “Fokker – Thank You” is elegantly written on the fuselage. The aircraft, PH-KZU, has been named Farewell Fokker.
Today I was fortunate to get on one of the flights operated by the Farewell Fokker aircraft, from Amsterdam to Southampton. It was raining at Amsterdam Schiphol so there was little to see before departure, but upon arrival in Southampton the sun was shining and the aircraft gave an excellent impression when disembarking on the apron.
The very last KLM Fokker 70 flight will leave 28 October 2017.
