Where is it?

The Aspire Lounge is located in the transit hall, on the right hand side when leaving the shopping area and heading for the gates. There are many signs and the lounge is impossible to miss.

How do I get in?

The Aspire Lounge is used by most full-service airlines operating at the airport with the exception of British Airways and OneWorld partners using the British Airways Lounge. It is also possible to access the lounge using some lounge cards and credit cards.

What’s it like?

The lounge has the standard Aspire lounge design in black, dark brown and grey and with lighting effects in neon blue. It is divided into several seating areas with either armchairs, sofas or chairs and with proper dining tables in the restaurant area.

The interior

The lounge is fairly dark and unfortunately lacks daylight and any kind of view. A few windows would have made the lounge a bit nicer.

There is a separate quiet room inside the lounge for those who want to take a rest or get away from the buzzling lounge.

Food and drinks

A selection of hot food is available for self service in the buffet area. In the morning traditional English breakfast is offered with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and beans. Later during the day there are two hot dishes available which change every month, one vegetarian dish and one non-vegatarian dish.

There is also a cold buffet available which also changes depending on time of the day with sandwiches and bread rolls, fruits, yoghurt, salads and vegetables as well as some pastries and desserts.

Soft drinks, juices, coffee and tea are available for self service. Wine, beer and spirits are also available free of charge but need to be ordered at the manned bar. Champagne, sparkling wine (prosecco) and premium cocktails can be purchased at the bar at an additional charge.

Facilities

TVs, newspapers and magazines are available and there is free Wi-Fi. Restrooms are available inside the lounge.

Anything else not to miss?

If you are looking for a better and more exclusive lounge experience you can buy access to the Aspire Plus Lounge. This is a separate lounge located nextdoors and can be accessed by paying 15 GBP on top of the standard entrance fee to the Aspire Lounge. If you visit the Aspire Lounge as a premium customer of an airline or by using a lounge card you can pay the 15 GBP to access the Aspire Plus Lounge at the reception.

The Aspire Plus Lounge is an adults-only lounge so no children are allowed. The design is completely different to the regular Aspire Lounge and much more stylish. The food is generally the same but the drinks are better with sparkling wine and signature Spey whisky. There are also some ‘Snooze pods’ with armchairs and TVs.

Final impression

The lounge offers the standard Aspire concept. It has everything you need including hot food, a manned bar and free Wi-Fi, but nothing out of the ordinary. Very friendly staff though, just too bad the lounge is quite dark and windowless.
