The new SAS Lounge in the international transit hall at Oslo Gardermoen opened in October 2015, three months after the opening of the new SAS Gold Lounge at the airport. However parts of the lounge have remained open during the renovations.
The lounge is open for SAS Plus passengers, SAS Business passengers on longhaul flights and business class passengers on Star Alliance flights. Right inside the lounge, with a separate entrance to the left of the buffet area, is the SAS Gold Lounge for EuroBonus Gold and Diamond members and Star Alliance Gold card holders.
The lounge is no longer called ‘SAS Business Lounge’ as there is no longer a business class cabin on SAS intra-European flights. The premium cabin is now called ‘SAS Plus’ and is more of a premium economy class. Therefore SAS decided to change the name of the business lounges to just ‘SAS Lounge’.
The lounge is partly located in the same area as the old lounge with the same entrance as before after a bridge above the shopping area. However the lounge has been significantly expanded with another 202 sqm from the old 348 sqm giving a new total size of 550 sqm.
The new 202 sqm are mostly located in the area which was previously used for the old SAS Gold Lounge along the windows facing the transit hall and the airside shopping areas in the international transit area. The Gold Lounge has now moved to a new location facing the check-in hall.
The lounge has the new lounge design with the new SAS Lounge furniture, partly the same ones as before but also with some changes.
Straight after the entrance there is a buffet and dining area and a section for passengers who typically only stay a short time in the lounge.
Further down the lounge there are more seating areas suitable for passengers who want a quiet space and who plan to stay a bit longer in the lounge.
The buffet area is located opposite the entrance and is also much larger than before. It is divided into two sections, one with the cold buffet and one with drinks and snacks.
There is free wireless internet in the lounge and also a business centre with desktop internet computers.
There are also private phone booths for passengers who want to work or make phone calls without disturbing others.
For passengers travelling with children there is a play room with toys and games.
And of course, being the lounge of a full-service airline, there is a service desk in the lounge located next to the entrance where passengers can get assistance with check-in, rebookings and upgrades.
