If you are looking to try some decent wines but do not have the budget to book a first class ticket, or enough points to attain a top-tier frequent flyer status (which will both generally get you into some of the better airport lounges in the world) there are in fact some tips on how you can enjoy the good stuff anyway, on a limited budget.
If you fly Air France business class from Paris CDG, or hold a Flying Blue Gold or Platinum card, or a Skyteam Elite Plus card, you can use the Air Frances lounges at the airport, and even in the business lounges at the airport, including the Schengen lounges in terminal 2F, they have some really decent wines.
This evening they have three red wines on offer – Cigalus 2016, Château Rollan de By 2012, and Ségla Margaux 2011.
The first red wine, Gérard Bertrand Cigalus Rouge 2016, was in fact served together with the main course during the Nobel Banquet in Stockholm last month, in presence of all the Nobel Prize laureates and the Swedish Royal Family. And you can try it as well, in the Air France Business Lounge.
The Air France Lounges at Paris CDG generally also offers champagne for self service as well as 2-3 white wines of good quality.
