Lufthansa has released some more information about the upcoming Airbus A350 and a nice and positive change is that the aircraft will feature a self-service buffet in business class, which has not been the case on previous aircraft types. In the “self-service section” passengers can help themselves to snacks and refreshments between the meals and there will also be a refrigerator with cold drinks.
In economy class there will be new ergonomically designed seats in a new colour scheme and there will also be more space to stow personal items. This is mainly due to the Airbus A350-900 being wider. There will also be larger screens.
The cabin will feature a special lighting concept which should help the passengers feeling more rested when arriving at the destination. The aircraft will also feature the latest FlyNet technology with a better web browsing experience in the air.
The first Airbus A350-900 will be delivered to Lufthansa in January 2017 and the first ten aircrafts will be based in Munich. Lufthansa has previously announced the first destinations will be Boston and Delhi.
The aircraft will have seating for 293 passengers with 48 in business class, 21 in economy class and 224 in economy class.
