The brand new Hilton hotel at Amsterdam Schiphol airport today opened its doors to guests, replacing the old Hilton hotel at the airport which opened in 1972.
The new hotel, which has been created by Dutch architect Mecanoo together with British interior design company The Gallery HBA, is characterised by the 42 metre high glazed roof in the lobby atrium. The new lobby concept serves as a multi-functional space, which includes a reception area, lounge and a bar.
The hotel has 433 rooms, including 12 suites with a separate living room, large bathroom and work area. There are also 96 executive rooms which also provide access to the executive lounge.
In the lobby there is a cocktail bar specialising in gins and jenevers. Nextdoors, in The Bowery restaurant, authentic grill and Asian dishes are served inspired by its Dutch heritage and primarily made using fresh ingredients from local suppliers and farmers. There is also The Vine Room with seating for up to 20 guests for private events.
For guests who want to relax or freshen up after a long day of travelling the Eforea Spa offers a pool, sauna and different treatments. There is also a fitness centre open 24 hours.
