Where is it?

The Radisson Blu Hotel Bremen is located in downtown Bremen. The location is excellent, right in the old town with all famous sites like the City hall just a few minutes away.

If you arrive by plane at Bremen Airport there is an excellent tram connection to the hotel. Tram line 6 goes from the airport and it takes 10 minutes to tram stop ‘Domsheide’, which is three minutes by foot from the hotel.

From the railway station, Bremen Hbf, there is also a good tram connection to the hotel through lines 4 and 6. You can also walk, the hotel is around 1,2 km from the railway station, and it takes about 13 minutes to walk.

The arrival experience

I arrived at the hotel quite late, just after 11 pm. The tram connection from the airport worked perfectly. A cheap and very convenient option which I also used to get back to the airport upon departure. The tram stop is very close to the hotel.

The entrance in the late evening

Most guests had already checked in and the reception area was empty and on top of that the room was prepaid, so the check-in process was quick. I was informed that I had been upgraded to a premium room thanks to my Radisson Rewards Gold card.

As the stay took place just before Christmas most of the lobby was decorated for Christmas with a rather nice Christmas tree next to the reception area. I could also spot parts of the hotel atrium, where the bar and the restaurant are located.

The room

The hotel has 235 rooms divided into Standard rooms, Superior rooms, Premium rooms, Junior suites and Suites.

The room corridor on the fourth floor

I had booked a standard room but was upgraded to a premium room located on the fourth floor. The main differences between a standard room and a superior room is that the latter is marginally larger, has a better view and also has a few extra amenities such as an ironing board and a bottle of mineral water. The premium rooms are even larger and come with bathrobe, slippers and a Nespresso machine.

Inside the premium room

The room measured 26 sqm and indeed had a better view facing the old town.  The room had a king-sized bed, a small work desk with a chair, a red armchair and a closet. The interior was mostly in light wood.

There was also a TV, a minibar and a Nespresso coffee machine. Overall the room was in a good condition and the bed was comfortable. However even though the design was modern and the room in a good condition, the interior did not really stand out or impress.

The bathroom was somewhat small and had a bathtub and the standard Radisson Blu toiletries from ThisWorks.

Food and drinks

The hotel has a beautiful atrium where both the bar and the restaurant are located called THE L.O.B.B.Y. This was also advertised at the hotel entrance so I presume this is a popular spot also among the locals.

The atrium bar and restaurant turned out to be a very pleasant place with a beautiful interior, cool lighting effects (perfect to get into Christmas spirit) and even some local art.

Other facilities

The hotel has a business centre, a fitness centre and a conference centre with 16 meeting rooms with capacity for up to 350 guests. There is also a large boardroom called Himmelsaal where you can host events, parties and weddings.

Service

The service was friendly and efficient throughout the hotel, which was appreciated given a rather short stay. Of course having the room prepaid helped a bit.

My Radisson Rewards Gold card was also properly recognised during the stay, both with a room upgrade to a Premium room and with a small gift waiting on the desk in the room with some chocolates and a card.

Breakfast

Breakfast was served in the atrium restaurant. As I was leaving fairly early in the morning I did not have breakfast in the hotel.

Final impression

A well-appointed hotel with an excellent location close to pretty much everything of interest and with an excellent tram service to the airport. Friendly service, a fairly standard room design which did not really stand out but a big plus for the stylish atrium bar and restaurant.
