Morning visit to the British Airways Galleries First Lounge at London Heathrow terminal 5, but fortunately not a too early morning visit. The flight does not depart until 10.40 am so there is plenty of time for a relaxed breakfast in the lounge.
The breakfast spread in the Galleries First Lounge is quite decent and includes all the standard breakfast dishes included in a Full English as well as various cold items such as bread rolls, yoghurt, milk and cereals, cold cuts and pastries. These are all available for self service from the buffet in the restaurant.
Naturally the full bar is open already in the morning with wines and champagne, so there is no problem starting the day with a glass of bubbly, or two.
There are also several other breakfast items available to order from the staff. You can order them in the restaurant but also in the rest of the lounge, whenever a member of staff passes your seat.
Among the breakfast dishes on offer are kippers, Egg Benedict and various breakfast sandwiches.
For a lounge which is accessible using a frequent flyer card flying economy class this is not bad at all. Access is provided to OneWorld Emerald and British Airways Gold flying British Airways or Iberia out of Heathrow terminal 5. British Airways first class passengers can also use the lounge but will most likely prefer to go to the Concorde Room Lounge instead.
