Where is it?
The Preslav Lounge is located in the international terminal, terminal 2, in the transit hall. It is somewhat hard to find and very badly signposted in the small terminal.
The lounge is located in the basement on level 0. After passing through security control and passport control, look for the escalators (or the lift) going down to the arrivals level, which are right in front of you after you exit from passport control. There is a very small sign mentioning the lounge but it is easier to follow the signs for arrivals.
Once in the basement after the escalator you make a U-turn and you will find the entrance right behind the escalator.
The Preslav Lounge is run by the same company as the Pliska Lounge, also located in the transit hall in terminal 2. Passengers who have access to the Preslav Lounge also have access to the Pliska Lounge as they have exactly the same registration system. However the Preslav Lounge is much larger than the Pliska lounge and given the location in the basement it generally gets fewer guests
How do I get in?
The lounge is used by several different airlines such as Aeroflot, Alitalia, TAROM, British Airways and Air France.
It is also possible to enter using various cards such as Priority Pass and Diners Club.
What’s it like?
The lounge is much larger than the Pliska Lounge and surprisingly airy and spacious with plenty of seats. And given the difficulties to find the lounge there were only about a handful guests inside during the visit so there was definitely no problem finding a seat.
The design is quite stylish and very modern and goes entirely in green and dark brown. Plants are used for decoration throughout the lounge and there are also pictures on some of the walls with plants, in the same green colour as the furniture. Basically the lounge is very green.
There are several seating areas with sofas and armchairs and also a dining area with tables.
Food and drinks
There is a rather spacious buffet area with food, snacks and soft drinks for self service and also a fairly nice bar counter with alcoholic drinks.
The food selection includes sandwiches, mini pizzas, miniature desserts, cakes, cookies, nuts and crisps. There is also flavoured yoghurt and some fresh fruits. No hot food is available though.
The drinks selection includes Bulgarian red and white wine, beer, a standard selection of spirits, coffee, tea and soft drinks. Spirits are available from the bar counter next to the buffet area, also in a stylish green colour.
There is also a juice machine where you can get freshly-squeezed orange juice.
Facilities
There is a TV in the lounge and a standard selection of newspapers. Free wireless internet is also available.
Restrooms are available inside and there is also a separate smoking room in the lounge.
Final impression
Actually not bad for a third-party lounge. Spacious lounge with a modern design, reasonable selection of snacks and a good selection of drinks. Just too bad it is badly signposted in the terminal.
