A pop-up meditation corner has opened in the British Airways Galleries First Lounge at London Heathrow terminal 5 with a TV (although turned off during most of my visit) showing a guided meditation as well as sofas and even some proper meditation chairs.
The pop-up corner is run by Beeja Meditation, a London-based company offering meditation classes and courses.
In the pop-up corner you can also grab a complimentary copy of the book ‘The Effortless Mind’ written by Will William, the founder of the company. He was a frequent traveller himself, often travelling for business and who at the end suffered from severe problems with both anxiety and insomnia. And travelling frequently across timezones and having to deal with jetlag did not exactly help. In the book he shares some of his knowledge on how to cope with a stressful life.
A fun and rather unusual idea with the meditation pop-up corner, in stark contrast to some of the other things they have had in the past such as scent consultation, jewelry and electronics. I actually do meditate from time to time, a great way to find harmony and relieve some stress, however I am not sure if I would take a seat there in front of a packed lounge.
