With immediate effect Emirates extend its timeframe for online check-in from 24 hours to 48 hours before departure. This means customers can check in on the Emirates webpage anytime between 48 hours and 90 minutes before scheduled departure time and drop off any checked luggage at the baggage drop counters at the airport and head straight to immigration and security. At Dubai airport passengers arriving by car can also drop off the luggage at the car park check-in between 24 hours and 6 hours before departure.
There is just one exception to the new rules. Passengers departing to or from the United States can also check in starting 48 hours before departure but will not be issued a boarding pass until 24 hours before departure.
“We have always taken into account feedback to improve the customer journey and the extension of online check-in is a result of that. By allowing check-in from 48 hours before departure we are providing our customers added flexibility to choose their preferred seats for a more comfortable journey,” says Alex Knigge, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications Marketing & Brand (Digital).
