This is something I always enjoy when travelling in the South Pacific region. At several airports you will be met upon arrival by a band or a musician playing and singing, entertaining you either while waiting in line for the passport control or later for the baggage delivery to start in the arrivals hall.
Imagine if you would always be met with such happy and overenthusiastic people whenever you arrive at a new airport, tired and jetlagged and mildly tempted to join the long line for passport control. It is pretty much impossible not to get a smile on your lips, and they do sing surprisingly well.
This band was waiting in the immigration hall at Nadi airport in Fiji and they seem to be playing there in connection with most international arrivals, at least for flight arrivals with a lot of holidaymakers like from Australia and New Zealand.
I have also experienced this (in one way or another) at several other airports in the South Pacific region, other than at Nadi airport, like in Port Vila in Vanuatu, Rarotonga in Cook Islands, Papeete in Tahiti/French Polynesia and in Nuku’alofa in Tonga.
