In November last year Air Serbia revealed plans to launch a new route from Belgrade to New York, a route that has not been served for 20 years. Now it has been decided the route is actually going to happen as well a starting date, 23 June 2016.
The route will be operated five times a week. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays the flight will depart Belgrade at 07.30 arriving in New York at 12.00. On Fridays and Saturdays the flight will depart Belgrade at 12.55 arriving in New York at 17.25. The return flight leaves New York JFK at 14.40 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, arriving in Belgrade at 05.30 the following morning. On Fridays and Saturdays the flight leaves at 19.30, arriving in Belgrade at 10.20.
Unfortunately the early departure on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays means there will be very few connections from other cities in the region without an overnight connection in Belgrade before continuing to New York. At the moment the only flights arriving early enough in the morning to allow a valid onward connection to New York are the ones from Abu Dhabi and Beirut.
