Starting on 1 March all passenger gates at Oslo Gardermoen airport will get new numbers, replacing the current format with gate numbers ranging from 1 to 55.
In the new format all gates will have a letter, from A to F, followed by a number. Gates A, B and C will be used for domestic departures while D, E and F will be used for international departures. F will be used for non-Schengen departures and D and E for Schengen departures.
The main reason for the change is the opening of the new north pier, due to open in autumn this year, which will almost double the terminal area. The C and D gates will be located in the new pier with the C gates used for domestic departures on the upper floor and the D gates for international departures on the lower floor.
The official opening of ‘The new Oslo Airport’ will take place on 27 April 2017, which will also see the opening of a new domestic arrivals hall, a new larger departure hall, a larger transit hall with a new shopping area and a new train station.
