Earlier this month KLM launched its new night lamp, specially designed for frequent travellers, or rather the children of frequent travellers. The ‘Night Light’ is designed in the shape of a KLM aircraft. Each window has a light and before going on a trip the parent indicates the number of nights he or she will be away. The lights are then turned off one by one, one every night. On the morning on the day the parent will be back home again, all lights are turned off.
The lamp turned out to be a real success, after just a few days the lamp was completely sold out. It is neither possible to order it in connection with an upcoming KLM flight, nor for home delivery. Apparently KLM launched it as a bit of a gimmick, but the sales exceeded all expectations. It will be interesting to see if more lamps will be produced.
