The aircraft manufacturer Airbus today delivered its 10,000th aircraft, an incredible achievement. That is a lot of aircrafts indeed. The very first aircraft (produced and delivered under the Airbus flag) was the Airbus A300, which made its maiden flight in 1972. Back in the days the launch was largely overshadowed by the launch of the supersonic aircraft Concorde, which in contrast to the Airbus aircrafts no longer exists.
The 10,000th aircraft to be delivered was an Airbus A350-900, which was handed over from the Airbus CEO to the CEO of Singapore Airlines during a special ceremony in Toulouse today. Unfortunately it looks like the weather was rather grey at the Airbus Delivery Centre.
